- Ensure you have set your JAVA_HOME.
- Set the WebLogic directory to a variable on the terminal:
- Under your installation directory or extracted folder from the installation zip, execute the script with this command: ./configure.sh

Therefore, prior to installing Oracle WebLogic 12.1.3 for 64-bit platforms, you must manually download and install the requisite JDK. - Add new Server by right click the space under Server tab. If you can’t see the Server tab, you can click Window > Show View > Server.
- Choose Oracle > Oracle WebLogic Server 211gR1 (10.3.3)
- Define the WebLogic Runtime:
Name: Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.3)
WebLogic home: /Users/mychin/weblogic/wlserver
Java home: /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home - Specify a WebLogic Domain Directory by clicking the ‘Create Domain’ icon that appears beside of the text box.
- For the first time user, choose ‘Launch Domain Configuration Wizard‘ icon that appears beside the text box.
- The configuration wizard will popup and do the settings as following:
- Create a new WebLogic domain
- Choose the option: Generate a domain configured automatically to support the following products: (tick the checkbox for JAX-WS Extension – 10.3.3.0)
- Domain name: weblogic
Domain location: (auto-generated) - Next > Configure Administrator User Name and Password
Name:
User Password:
Confirm: - Next, choose Development Mode
- Optional Configuration: (I have chosen Administration Server and it leads to the next screen
- Configure the Administration Server
Name: AdminServer(default)
Listen address: localhost
Listen port: 7001 (default)
- Then, click the ‘Create’ button to create the domain.
- After the domain has been created successfully, you can choose the name that you have given for the domain and the location will be auto populate for you.
- Finally, click ‘Finish’.
In this post, we will be performing Oracle Weblogic11g windows installation. In this post the installation has been performed on 32 bit windows machine. But whether it is 32bit or 64bit, installation steps will be same . Just make sure you have the appropriate weblogic installer based on the system OS type. So let’s get started…
Oracle Weblogic Installer comes into below different flavors…
- Oracle WebLogic Server 11g R1 (10.3.6) + Coherence + OEPE Package Installer -This installer is an installation program that allows you to install Oracle WebLogic Server components and includes Oracle Coherence and Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse.
- Oracle WebLogic Server 11g R1 (10.3.6) + Coherence Package Installer – This Installer is an installation program that allows you to install Oracle WebLogic Server components and includes Oracle Coherence.
- Oracle WebLogic Server 11g R1 (10.3.6) ZIP Installer – This is a zip distribution for Oracle WebLogic Server intended for WebLogic Server development only. It contains the necessary artifacts for installing and running WebLogic Server and can’t be used as an installation target for other FMW products. It does not contain the following optional components: ‘Samples’, ‘Derby Evaluation Database’, or ‘Web server Plug-ins’. It does not include Oracle Coherence or Oracle Enterprise pack for Eclipse. The zip distribution is supported on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X platforms.
- Oracle WebLogic Server 11g R1 (10.3.6) Supplemental ZIP distribution – The WLS supplemental zip distribution is intended for development use. It is supported on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X systems. It contains the necessary artifacts to develop and test applications on WebLogic Server. WLS supplemental zip requires that the primary zip distribution is already set up and is ready to use. Supplemental zip contains samples, evaluation database (Derby) and L10N console help files.
1. Download appropriate Weblogic installer based on your requirement
(for example – oepe-wls-indigo-installer-11.1.1.8.0.201110211138-10.3.6-win32.exe)
2. Right click on the installer and select Run as administrator . (To have full elevated rights and privileges)
3. Click Yes on the windows (User Account Control) notification window to proceed.
4. You will see the below window saying preparing installer.
(for example – oepe-wls-indigo-installer-11.1.1.8.0.201110211138-10.3.6-win32.exe)
2. Right click on the installer and select Run as administrator . (To have full elevated rights and privileges)
3. Click Yes on the windows (User Account Control) notification window to proceed.
4. You will see the below window saying preparing installer.
5. After the installer is prepared , you will proceed to the Oracle installer windows as shown below.
6. Click on Next to proceed further. In the next screen , you will asked to select a middleware home for installation. There are radio buttons to select.
(a) Use an existing middleware home – If you select this option , the installer will check whether the product is already installed there or not. If it is already installed then it will give a error notification as shown below…
(b) Create a new middleware home – Select this option for a new installation of Weblogic under a new middleware home. You can select any folder structure according to your work standard. (For example – C:OracleSOAmwPS6 )
Click on Next to proceed.
7. If you want to register/receive for security updates, you can provide oracle support email/username by selecting the check box else you can deselect the check box. (When you deselect the check box , there will be a confirmation popup window notification will appear ,click on Yes to proceed). In this post we are skipping the registration for security updates as shown below. Click on Next to proceed further…
8. In this window , you can select the installation type based on your needs. Typical Installation OR Custom Installation. Only difference is that typical installation does not include examples. In custom installation , you can select the components based on your needs. Click on the Next to proceed further…
In this post , I have selected installation type as custom.
9. In this window , you can select the components that you want to have based on your needs as shown below. Click on Next to proceed further…
10. In this window , you can select the appropriate jdk you want to use in this installation. Either you can use the bundled jdk that comes along with the installer or you can use separate jdk by browsing the respective path for it as shown below.

11. In this window , you can review the product installation directories and make any change according to your needs.

12. In this window , If you want to install Nodemanager as windows service then select the Yes radio button and give the port number you want or you can keep the default (5556) else select No radio button.

13. In this window , select the start menu folder in which you want to create oracle shortcuts based on your needs.

14. In this window , you can review the installation summary. And Click on Next button to start the installation.

15. After the installation is completed , you will get window as shown below. Click on the Done button to exit the setup.

So , the weblogic windows installation completed successfully.
Note : You can check the installed product directories under the middleware home directory. Since we have used C:OracleSOAmw_home as middleware home in this post. So all the installed product directories will be present under this directory.
